Body Bamboo 101

Come join Ropeosaur and Lilservicegoblin as we share the basics of body bamboo. Let us guide you through your first body bamboo rope experience as we teach important safety considerations, helpful hitches, and attachment methods that will open up a new world of rope experiences for you and your tying partner. After going over some examples of attaching bamboo to the body, we will be providing demonstrations of some fun predicaments to try out while also encouraging attendees to create their own!

This class is intended for tying pairs and single individuals - everyone must register

Things to bring:

• suggested minimum 8 full lengths of rope (~25-30 feet each), and some half lengths
• clothing that can cover the body (particularly the ankles, think thick tall socks) as an option to protect the boney prominences from the bamboo while you practice creating tension while lashing bamboo to the skin.
• safety sheers

Prerequisites:

• Some experience required.

  For tops: For example, ability to tie a single and double column, basic frictions (e.g. munters, half hitches), and basic chest and hip/leg harness.

  For bottoms: Experience being in rope, noticing physical and emotional responses, knows personal body strengths/limits

  For both: basic negotiation and communication skills with partners, basic anatomy and risks

About the Instructors:

Ropeosaur (They/Them)

A genderfluid rigger whose dynamic style keeps bottoms on their toes.

Their current passions are trans inclusivity, gas masks, and power exchange. Ropeosaur values developing long-standing relationships with their play partners, and deeply enjoys finding the things that make their partners cringe…and using them intentionally to create elements of fear and suffering. Ropeosaur is passionate about teaching concepts and practices, especially with mixed-kinks, rather than patterns and hard rules, particularly with rope. Taking advantage of their ADHD, Ropeosaur brings creativity to their scenes, utilizing their chaotic energy to bring imagination, passion, and playful sadism to any space they share. Outside of kink, Ropeosaur is a full-time healthcare professional with a Master’s degree and is a Plant Daddy to their garden. Ropeosaur has had the pleasure of teaching at Dark Odyssey, Unabashed, SMIRC, as well as hosting several intensives. Ropeosaur’s home involvement in kink-world includes running Cyrenaics rope for RISQUE, where they mentor other Tops in their local community, as well as running private Queer community events from their home. Ropeosaur hopes to inspire others to explore and embrace Topping, regardless of size or gender expression.

LilServiceGoblin (she/her)

Has a deep love and passion for all things service, but mainly serving wine and charcuterie. When she is not serving she is often finding herself in some masochistic ropes for a sadist to enjoy their suffering. LilServiceGoblin also has a passion for gas masks of all kinds and when she not being LilServiceGoblin she can be found as Creature, a gas mask wearing critter who also loves to serve and suffer.
