Volunteer Opportunities |
Did you know the studio is run strictly by volunteers? It is! Volunteering does not require a regular commitment and doing so just once a month makes a huge difference. It is also a great way to meet new people and get involved with the community. If you would like to be added to our volunteer roster, please fill out our Volunteer Interest Form!

Below is a list of our different volunteer roles, responsibilities, and benefits. If you have any additional questions, please reach out to the Volunteer Committee at volunteering@studiofriction.com.
Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities
Event Host:

Greet and check-in event registrants (use software system and check IDs) at the start and throughout the event

Answer questions and give tours to first timers

Assist the Event Manager with completing all event responsibilities

Clean and tidy the studio at the end of the event

Average Shift Time = 5 hours
Studio Cleaner:
- Regular deep cleaning of the studio (more information will be provided if interested)
Work Day Volunteer:
- Studio maintenance and upkeep
- Deep Cleaning
- Painting
- Welding
- Furniture building
- Other needed activities around the studio based on skills of the volunteer
Volunteer Benefit Structure
Volunteer shifts range from 3-5 hours and earn you free entry into the event. Volunteering as little as once a month can earn you free membership as well!

Benefits are calculated and applied quarterly:
Jan – March applied in April
April – June applied in July
July – September applied in October
October – December applied in January
Depending on the number of shifts volunteered, benefits will be applied on a quarterly basis by Volunteer Committee staff on or around the 7th day of the month following the end of the quarter (see the schedule above). Benefits are applied per below:
- All benefits will be applied according to the member's current membership level (i.e. if the member volunteers 10 shifts in a quarter and has a Tied membership, they will be granted 2 months of Tied membership benefit).
- If the member has a monthly recurring membership, the next recurring renewal date will be extended to be auto-debited by the number of months of benefit due.
- If the member has an annual membership, the annual membership term date will be extended by the number of months of benefit due.

- Shifts cannot be traded in for membership upgrades.
- Volunteer shift accruals do not carry over from quarter to quarter.
