The Black Fem Kink Collective Presents: A Kinky Kickback

At our parties, there’s never pressure to engage in play, coming out is also a great way to meet other kinky Black community. This is a Black exclusive, queer centered event. While you do not have to be queer to attend, we do ask that you interact with the space in a way that keeps that focus in mind and respects everyone in attendance.The Black Fem Kink Collective centers Black fems in all ways. So, while all Black kinksters are invited to attend and encouraged to participate. We ask that only femme-identifying folks take on dominant roles during play.

Community Potluck / Saturday Rope

We gather as a community to share a meal, and time to practice rope. Bring a dish to share, we generally eat from 5-6, and tie after. Make sure to bring some rope and a tying partner if you want to tie or be tied by another person. Self-suspenders and observers are welcome to come solo. Note that no class will be offered but knowledgeable folx will be around to answer questions!

Fab Lab

An affinity space for people who fall under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella. This is a welcoming space to connect with others, practice or learn new techniques, and explore new kinks in a place where you can be comfortable being you. We will not be checking for queer cards at the door. If you feel you will benefit from being in a space centered around and for the LGBTQIA+ community you are welcome and encouraged to attend. If you have any questions about this do not hesitate to contact the studio.

The Knotty Show

The Knotty Show is part stand-up comedy show, part rope demonstration. Colorado's goofiest comedians perform their craft alongside a couple of kinksters doing a suspension. Sometimes the comics roll with it and sometimes the comics get all blushy & bashful. Either way, hilarity ensues!

Consent Education Series

Consent is more than knowing the right words or following a set of rules, it is an ongoing practice that requires awareness, reflection, and accountability.

Open Rope Lab Wednesday Nights

Rope Bottom Roundtable

Join us for an afternoon centered on the voices, experiences, and wisdom of rope bottoms. This roundtable is a collaborative space to explore the knowledge, skills, questions, insight, communication, and care that shape the bottoming experience—while building mutual support, shared language, and connection within our community.

Rope Practicum: A Community Skillshare & Study Hall

Rope Practicum is a friendly and collaborative space where rope enthusiasts come together to share, learn, and grow in their practice. Whether you’re a top, bottom, switch, or self-tier, this community-driven event offers a chance to ask questions, troubleshoot techniques, exchange skills, and dive into meaningful discussions about rope bondage. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where everyone—newbies and seasoned practitioners alike—can expand their knowledge and refine their craft through open-source, community-led learning.

Saturday Rope 101 with Beginner 101 Lesson

Studio Friction opens the doors for members to practice their rope work, Make sure to bring some rope and a tying partner if you want to tie or be tied by another person. Self-suspenders and observers are welcome to come solo. AND every first Saturday we teach a 1 hour 101 lesson, so if you have never done anything at all with rope, here is an easy starting point.

Self-Suspension Saturdays

On the second Saturday of each month, self-tying and self-suspending enthusiasts are encouraged to take over the main floor of Studio Friction! Self-suspenders are encouraged to bring a partner or friend as a spotter though this is not required. Group spotters will be available throughout the event. Beginners are welcome. Skill sharing among attendees is encouraged, but not required. All other types of rope folx are welcome and encouraged to come as well and tie upstairs or in the champagne room.

Soft Lab Thursday Night

Every 4th Thursday of the month from 7–10 pm, our Soft Lab is open to members to practice and play in a low-sensory environment. This evening is designed to be a quieter, more intimate experience, with dim lighting, soft music, and reduced overall stimulation.

Tabletoppers: A Studio Friction Game Day

This event is for collaborative and group games! Think board games, D&D, RPGs, cards, chess, Jackbox, etc. We encourage you to bring your favorite game to share , or jump into a game! In case you're not sure where to start, we'll have some games to welcome you into the event! Come alone or in a group and be ready for some silly gameplay or serious rivalry!

Tight Lines: A Kink Life Drawing Event

Join us for a live figure drawing experience celebrating the art of rope and Shibari. Bring your favorite drawing materials and settle into a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere as artists capture the beauty of rope through a series of thoughtfully composed live poses.

TNG Night

The Next Generation (TNG) Night is back at Studio Friction! A special event for the younger folx between 19 and 35. TNG is great for those new and experienced with rope alike. It’s a safe space to try out rope for the first time while also building community among the next generation. Skill sharing is encouraged from experienced riggers. And of course, non-rope activities are allowed too.
